Now I’m not gonna jump to say this story is the best written masterpiece out there but this chapter feels oddly lazy? Like bro couldn’t think about how to naturally move things along so fuck it we ball, just make stuff happen for the plot.
Firstly, ml has been a pretty chill dude thus far. Green flag, nothing but nice, caring, thoughtful, yadda yadda. Dude even says this chapter yeah I’m only nice to you. So what’s his excuse for forgetting… I don’t know… basic human manners and just third wheeling his crush for who knows how long? It’s not like it’s been years since red head and ml have hung out or something, so he got carried away. If it was an out of left field plot to make mc jealous sure, but evidently that does not seem to be so.
Secondly, call me old fashioned but is it hip to just be casually holding hands with your homies over lunch? I feel like an extended arm around the shoulders after mc is already side-eyeing them after the neck touch would probably be… a bit more natural? Hell make red-head the type that greets friends with a big ol lengthy hug. Anyway Im done yapping now why am I even nitpicking.
