It's possible they aren't real cousins? Like how you just call some people family but they aren't related to your at all? I have some "cousins" and "uncles" like that cause my family tends to just adopt people lol, but I guess with manga it's possible they are real cousins

In Japan, it’s not illegal to marry a first cousin. (￣∇￣") I looked it up too after being weirded out by cousin romance in some yaoi mangas. Then again, cousin marriage is pretty uncommon and not really encouraged in present day Japanese society.
Why are there always the love cousins trope in manga? It's disgusting. It ruins the mood duh
