Back when I first read the series when it came out (circa 8 years ago?) my first thought that he liked Kanata too, but now I feel like he didn't like him but he rather saw parts of himself in Kanata that he needed to confront in order for him to be happy.
Reichi had always been in the closet as a way to protect himself (he first person he came out to was Mito) and yet Kanata (whom he had never talked to) told him he had figured him out in just a few months, thus exposing that his queerness wasn't hidden enough for people not to notice. I think he was also frustrated to see Kanata, who sees through appearances, deny his love for Mito for such a long time, the same way Reichi was in denial about owning his homesexuality.
In the end, he might have been angry at Kanata for being a shitty person to Mito and hurting his friend, but he was also projecting his own anger about himself not being able to own his feelings, which I think is explained by the way he was angry when Kanata said that him and Mito "aren't in the same world". Both of them are straight so to Reichi they ARE in the same world of love, whereas Reichi has to always wonder if others men will always be in a different world far away from him.
When Reichi cries as Kanata and Mito are finally happy and going out, it might be because seeing the subject of his projections overcome his struggles finally convinced him to live his truth as well, because he has seen that it is possible after all.
