I just don’t get it, if you don’t like this kinda story don’t read it. I like teacher x student tropes it’s fiction, read what you want to read it’s not that hard.

I started reading teacher x student fics in middle school. I don’t read them much now because I’m 20 and read college professor x student fics instead. Fiction is not real and it’s honestly alarming that this even needs to be explained. Liking a fictional trope does not mean I want it, endorse it, or believe it should happen in real life. If you’re incapable of separating fiction from reality, that’s a you problem, not mine. The idea that consuming fiction automatically reflects real world morals is childish, lazy thinking. I can distinguish stories from real life just fine. Not everyone lacks basic media literacy.

The concern is about normalisation and who the trope centres, especially when it involves authority figures and minors. Fiction doesn’t exist in a vacuum, it reflects and reinforces cultural narratives whether we intend it to or not. Fictional stories have always been political and will always have influence on people whether you like it or not.
