[MAIN STORY SPOILERS] izuna x rin is such a big canon potential, only if both ibara & haruaki don't exist, lmao. aside from ibara & izuna's marriage, rin's first love is haruaki & based on the main story, he's definitely falling for that man all over again. the mikis definitely have a type for compassionate & strong idiots though

I don't think Haruaki sees Rin in that light, he himself calls Rin his best friend and it's very obvious in the main story how Haruaki is clingy af with Sano lol...

have you finished (re)-reading the main story? because there will be more spoilers to address the sano part. since we're talking about romantic ties here - idc what your personal ship is, but canonically, haruaki does not see sano romantically & he's drawn clear lines & stated that he's a teacher & cannot, will never, & does not want to anymore, be a peer. the "what if they were both students" was mildly considered during the sleeping yokai arc, but even so, haruaki wanted his original life - where they weren't students together, & where rin & izuna were his peers instead. you can also see this line during the latest kitsune arc because of how the possessed spirits were using the students against haruaki & kurai

the feelings - i wasn't talking about haruaki liking rin, only vice versa. i agree there isn't much except for small & consistent moments of them together to show romantic development by haruaki, but rin was haruaki's childhood crush as well. even in the midst of sailor uniforms in kyoto & j the fact he only has eyes for sailor uniforms, haruaki was so excited & found rin to be very beautiful in his traditional kimono & was more than happy to see all other kimonos with rin. also, the author has drawn a chart for how affectionate the characters are with haruaki, & rin seems to have the biggest heart with haruaki + he's also the only one with a heart with marshmallow, who's practically haruaki's birthed child

maizuka would canonically do the utter most & would hate haruaki if he actually inclined towards sano by the way because it's clear maizuka likes sano very much & that he's very confident sano will only like him & there's no room for anyone else. he's pretty terrifying about sano's romantic life & his animal yokai instincts would identify a rival immediately

+ genuinely, & i'm not speaking about j this but about other works in general, if you want to argue "x has no feelings for y", NEVER say "x says y is his best friend". there's naturo & sasuke, gojo & geto, reki & langa, guren & shinya, suo & sakura + nirei, etc. shounen works, even those with prevalent lgbtq+ presence, sometimes don't confirm any relationships & keep them as "bromance" for who knows why, even though if 1 of them was a girl, they'd be treated as canon even if x stated y is j their best friend

Idc about ur personal OTP either and Although I don't agree with the part that Mame would hate Haru if he likes Sano, since it's clear how Mame himself enjoys the company of Haruaki more than Izuna, and at times he tries to pair them as well. Speaking off, the Tobyou Bday art Sensei posted clarified that Sano indeed sees Haru as something more than a teacher or friend, and Haru never drew a line, he said he didn't want to be in a delulu place where His students are not his students and also he got angry as that imposter was not the Sano Mikoto, actually he treasures. Another fact that Sano gets visibly defensive when someone bad mouths Haru's potential of being a good teacher, he even felt very upset when he broke the soul parts of Haru, then again, he only laughs and can be himself with Haru enough to ditch his friends. There are many official arts where Haru always fanboys super hard that he has heart eyes whenever he spotted Idol Sano. Then, in that chart, Sano have towards Haru too, and in the future the reason why Haru likes Sano so much will be revealed more. You should reread the main story again to understand the character settings properly.

no, maizuka would literally hate haruaki if he inclined towards sano romantically, especially since they have a teacher-student relationship. he'd maybe simmer down for sano's sake if it really went that way, but maizuka seems to like sano himself & is opposed to sano with other love interests. obviously, canonically, he doesn't hate haruaki & is fine with haruaki because haruaki is his beloved teacher & there is no indication of a romantic relationship. no matter how lgbtq+ friendly this manga is, the author has the adults treating the students as children, e.g. izuna treating the raijin twins as children & scolding them to not read porn despite them likely being hundreds of years older than izuna himself

also, sano & haruaki share a lot of secrets together. sano does see haruaki as more than a teacher & a friend, & if you've read the main story, there are many times it's shown that it's likely due to haruaki being exactly like ebisu before ebisu became jaded & angry. haruaki is kind, clumsy, irritating, & unreliable yet reliable the way that ebisu was. haruaki didn't mind yokai despite being different races the way ebisu did - shown during the time traveling arc. sano has also told ebisu & compared ebisu with haruaki a few times, remembering his brother fondly. if there will be future developments of a romantic nature, that'll be great for you although i believe it'll be quite controversial - but rn, canonically, a lot of it points towards familial affection at best.

on haruaki's side, yes, sano is his most treasured when it comes to his students. the sleeping yokai would obviously choose among his students because atm, he was saying he wished he was their peer. since he wanted to get closer to haruaki & prolong the dream, of course it would be sano. why would it choose izuna, rin, acchan, etc. when those people are not connected to haruaki in this world? yes, haruaki fanboys over sano but it's sano. in that world, everyone agrees sano's the hotshot guy - cool, hot, smart & he has a soft spot for fluffy animals. it's the same way ogurou (?) has many fans with heart eyes for him as an idol. also, this is a matter of personal preference for a relationship, but haruaki being clingy, whiny, & dependent on sano the way he is, is exactly why i don't see haruaki having feelings for sano romantically. as a teacher/adult & he has asserted his older age figure a lot, i don't find haruaki to be the whiny type in a relationship. i find him to be someone who prefers to be doing the caring, rather than to be taken care of. it's nice to have someone strong you can rely on in a predicament though, & sano's brute force that haruaki has first-hand experience of is definitely reliable

many other people have been upset on account for haruaki being berated for his capacities as a teacher - acchan, rin, izuna, all of his students, including nyuudou's father at some point. rin also hesitated & got beat by haruaki's soul fragment because it was haruaki

also, you said the reasons why haruaki likes sano will be "revealed more" in the future, but as far as i know, yohaji doesn't have a novel. are there author notes from twitter, birthday arts, or are you an industry insider, so you have access to reliable rumours/the storyboard? i'm genuinely asking by the way because your wording sounds like there's content already released, j not in manga form. i haven't missed out on much, if any, released yohaji content, unless there's something shared within a specific community. or was your statement moreso a hope/speculation for future content? if it's the latter, i agree with you, because there's no way they'll go through an arc about sano & ebisu without haruaki having to smack ebisu & tell him sano's grown up & the experiences haruaki had with him

genuinely, i do not care what your ship pairing is & how taboo it is because i've read & like stuff with even worse things & crimes. i responded in length initially because i was close to my period & i didn't like your tone comparing our ships despite my not saying haruaki liked rin. i responded in length again because i think there's a lot of things you've read with ship-tinted glasses, which is perfectly fine to fuel your ships, but there are a lot of contexts, e.g. ebisu & haruaki being similar, in the story that seemed to be missed. there are also smaller moments you mentioned i didn't address because they're the same as moments between haruaki & rin that you likely don't see as romantic either because you don't care for them, but i do because i care for them

i don't want to talk about the ships anymore because if we go back & forth, it will end up becoming a ship argument even though rn haruaki should j focus on not being murdered & hunted down left & right by abe no seimei's servants. i j want to know if yohaji has a novel i didn't know about or other contents not released in manga-form that i might've missed out since you said more reasons about haruaki's feelings for sano will be "revealed more", or if that was j your hope/speculation for future content
