ngl if i heard my partner say that to someone i would get hurt and question their love for me. i almost dropped this as soon as i read that line but delving into their characters and the storyline much deeper, that moment of realization came to me (⌒▽⌒)

I would have considered dropping it if it hadn't been for the immediate line that followed. Where he basically said he would never be single. The expressions in thay small moment from him are what I am sure Niko was starting to consider himself. Niko already deduced the ML was an idiot after all.
ML had no ill will nor alternative motivation for assisting Niko.
true true!!! that's why i didnt dropped it. it didn't have any significant panel so i thought it was just a really stupid comment from the airhead seme, a pathetic and not well-thought comfort words. he was even quick on acting and correcting his foolishness once he realized
i really liked that after rou realized he hurt yoshino, despite only having good intentions, he immediately made amends and changed his behaviour to lessen his future chances of hurting yoshino again. he didn't try to argue that he did nothing wrong or that he was only trying to help a friend in need, he didn't try to justify himself. most people's first reflex when they believe they're in the right would be to get defensive. a good person isn't good because they're perfect and never commit any wrongs, they're good because they learn from those wrongs and grow from them.
Everyone in the comments is focusing on a single line he used while trying to comfort someone. Or that he made the mistake of focusing on the coworker. He was concerned out of the person's depressive state as well as the signs of abuse.
Did you all forget he had never been in love before? He is still learning what it truly means to be in a relationship and thought he was just being a friend. It's all about the communication. His partner also didn't express it hurt him and he was telling them everything. Since they were supportive he thought it was okay to try and help this friend/coworker. They both failed in the communication department. You can not blame one for not knowing the others boundaries or worries if the other is not saying them.
I personally feel the seme in this one had a lot of growth and learned what it actually was to be in a real relationship.
