Carol did say they were engaged, and she also said they were married three times. Given the scenes with her mom, I wouldn't take anything she says at face value. They are cousins though.

I didn't say I hated her, but the way she's acting right now is really messed up considering how Senpai's feelings for Tomo have nothing to do with Tomo. If she wanted to make Senpai jealous, she didn't need to go for Jun. She's specifically doing it to bother Tomo, which is fucked up.
