It’s against the law to discriminate when you are a doctor. It is grounds for losing your medical license. When someone comes into the ER and needs a procedure to save their life, the ER doctors are supposed to just help them no question. The money issue is discussed AFTER and there are administrators in the ER to discuss things like a payment plan, etc. She wasn’t being naive or self righteous. She was being RIGHT. The guy leading the ER was the issue, plain and simple.
I was just reading another webtoon when I got the notification for a reply lol. Totally forgot about this one. I dropped it due to other reasons but thanks for clarifying anyway. I can't recall if this context was for emergency or non-emergency case or what chapter it occurred. If like you said it was an emergency case then you're right, it may have slipped my mind and I may have been thinking of a consultation case and her doing treatment for free iirc, may have been irked by the money issue not being addressed (did she help pay for the treatment or was the penniless patient forced to pay at the end idk). Can't remember too well cause it was one year ago and I stopped reading early on cause the medical cases were boring and I was comparing it to Dr Elise and Medical Return too much.

I know she's supposed to be a kind doctor but her getting mad at being told to treat the paying patients instead of poor ones who have no money just makes her come across as naive with a saviour complex. It's unfair that some people are so poor they can't afford treatment but what hospital would run like a charity and offer treatment for free? In Medical Return, the MC uses his own money so that's fine. But here, the FL just righteously gets mad and that's it. It's a small detail but it really irks me.
