LITERALLY this is exactly what i was thinking. they love each other a ton but they have different levels of needs and different ways of communication which causes misunderstandings, and thats what makes the story feel very real and down to earth
In terms of emotions, the seme is detached and doesn’t need much to feel satisfied, but the uke is more sensitive and needs more emotional nurturing/reassurance.
The difference in emotional needs creates imbalance.
The seme does not communicate his expectations (in his head, the uke should clearly confess bc they clearly like each other, whereas uke receives a different signal in actual interactions). Also, seme is not in touch with his feelings. “I didn’t realize it but I felt a chill when he said he wanted to break up”.
Uke is in touch with his feelings but holds back fearing the reaction he will receive from his boyfriend, tho he did express his feelings clearly multiple times.
I would say the uke gives acts of service and wants to receive words of affirmation/quality time. The seme gives and receives physical touch and perhaps values gifts (like a handmade scarf).
