I am legit pissed off right now... I read a few comments and every one was happy for them but I was not! I mean... why talk up the childhood friend so much if they weren't going to end up together?? Why stop them from going all the way the first time if they were just gonna end up together in the end?? I am seriously not happy with this ending. Ou-san didn't even confess!! Nope. Im not happy. If they are happy now then so be it. I'm happy for them. But I don't think the story was written good enough to properly show me that they truly belonged together and they aren't just fooling themselves.

Well, since you shared your opinion let me share mine:
Not every homosexual love ends in a happy end. A couple of best friends falling for each other is quite rare, which makes this more realistic. And in the other chapter Ou gives his friend a lslight hint, in order to not damage their relationship he's holding back.
Also love doesn't always hits you with a BAMM in your face. You might have have crush on the person you like, but developing a deeper love comes when you come to know the other person :)

Then you are not the kind for a subtle story telling. Yes, feelings were not conveyed upfront but the context is there in the story, it just depends on how you look at it. He did confess but when he did you know he was already giving it up. He knows that he doesn't like Koba that much anymore as he is longing for Inumura(cant remember) more. Inumura as well has feelings for his brother, but he had feelings for Ou-san as well. Yes their feelings aren't whole for each other at that point, but it's already a good starting point for them. We don't know what actually happened between the lines but they look like they working out well. Sometimes things don't have to be discussed upfront.

the reason why the childhood friend was brought up so much is to show ou's despair and his feelings. not to show there is gonna be a story for them. the reason why they didn't go all the way in the beginning even though they're gonna end up together anyway is because ou was scared and still confused about his feelings and because inumura isn't an asshole who is forceful. and i can agree that their feelings weren't clearly written out all throughout the manga because even then they were still sorting out their feelings, but at the same time, you can feel how they're both deviating towards each other. so chapter 7 is the frosting on the unfinished cake where we see that they've been together for 5 years and are moving in together. happy ending.

Trust me I know all this and more of what you guys are saying. I am 30 years old and at one point in my life I thought I was gay (for like 10 years). I know the implications of this story but if you remember the move City of Angels? We fell in love with their story and what happens at the end?? They kill off one of the main characters. I just don't think they should have made the first 5 chapter about Ou-sans love for the best friend with the slight hints about something coming from the now boyfriend and then marry off the best friend like everyone was going to be happy about it. It was just frustrating for me to fall in love with the best friend and then have to move over to a new prospect in the span of days in yaoi terms and 1 chapter in RL. Rant over.. sorry.
