The problem isn't the rape. Yes, it's just a story being told, but it's a story that's being told very badly.

Having so many chapters and so little development in both story and character is just bad.

If you're into torture porn, good for you, but people who actually like well written stories simply criticize the obvious.

I simply feel like I'm reading chapters of the exact same endlessly without anything changing. I've read my fair share of toxic stories, but usually they make up for all the negativity at some point with developments, which makes the it worth my time invested.

That's simply not the case here.

The author should've just made a pure pwp story, because that's clearly what they would've preferred, and people wouldn't get waited into reading it in hopes of getting a well written story at some point.

I think what makes Jinx more of a target for the hate than other similar stories is just that it looks and acts like it's more than just torture porn, which it is not

And that upsets people who wasted their time with this in hopes it would someday get better

It also doesn't help that the seme is probably the most unlikable character I've ever seen.

I'm only seeing the MC suffer without any payoff, the sex scenes just make you feel bad even if they're drawn sexy, I'm rooting for no one, it's just a terrible read through and through

S1 was about building up to all the horrible things that JK did to Dan and that took 53 chapters over the course 2 years so why are you expecting everything that happened so far to get resolved in less than 20 chapters, within 6 months?

The problem is that current BL readers are way too impatient and want a resolution to the story immediately when these things take time, even YEARS.

Of course I didn't read the plot probably, like I would waste my time on garbage like that lol

But I skimped through it enough to understand the situation, and they were practically still at the exact same point at chapter 50 as they were at chapter 1 even though there were several scenes where a change would've been perfect, but no it just went back to the same old, making the scene completely pointless.

I don't want to resolve everything immediately, and I love slow burn, but bruh there's a difference between that and zero progress with so much repetitiveness that it's become clear the author only drags it out this much in order to put more porn in

The problem with prolonging the negative sides of the story so much (MC's suffering), without any sign of change sprinkled in between, is that people just end up hating the ML so much that the don't want the 2 to end up together, which ends up in a huge disappointment if they do at the end.

It's practically as if the MC from Pearl Boy ended up with the bad guy instead.

There's definitely people who are too Impatient with stories I agree. But personally I love slow stories IF they keep making steady progress. Lady Baby is a great example of 50% of the story feeling like filler because it was stagnating for so long. Jinx feels similar, but instead of boring it's just annoying constantly
