Ig Carcel kept caaling him that jot because he's a commoner. More likely because of his jealousy towards Emiliano. Emiliano is Ines's husband and the father of her child. Carcel just can't accept that fact easily.

It’s an honest representation of how jealous and therefore hostile he feels about the woman he loves. I think that’s the beauty of this; you know he gets to feel that way because he’s convinced Ines is only with him to run away from Oscar so she can eventually be with Emiliano.
Emiliano is such a sweetheart, he looked so concerned for carcel.
I don’t like it when carcel calls him a bastard or lowly.
