I love your last sentence. It really captures what I felt when I finally decided to push back my internalized homophobia and began a relationship with my current girlfriend (going onto our 5th year!) It was so beautiful to see how our relationship blossomed so beautifully yet so normally.
It’s like eternal relief, right? You suddenly look at their face and feel "ah, we’re not monsters. This is all so normal" and it washes over you.
I love Luke’s way of adapting to dating another man and how he explains it. There’s something sweet about finding normalcy in a bond society often tells you is not normal at all.
