It’s not really smooth but I can see where her boldness is from. She’s reincarnated into another person body and keep herself low and doesn’t dare to speak up. But her boldness definitely come from someone who desire to change just like her past life. I think you should re-read and look at her perspective more.

also, didn't like that there was no smooth transition from chloe's shy/oblivious to bold/aware attitude, which is one of her traits that were considered as charming, it felt like I was reading another character once her status changed
