I can tolerate playboys but I can't stand manipulators. They disgust me.

I can see that. Yeah, it can depend on what kinda tricks ML is playing. If it's light and playful then I can pass it. But, there are male leads who create artificial situations like hiring people to bully them come as saviours or separating the MC's loved ones from him. They are the worst, IMO. At least with Playboy and Cheater, MCs usually already know about this side of MLs. But with a manipulator, he/she will never know about the real situation.
Playboys sure but cheaters I can’t ever excuse no matter what…imagine getting back with a cheater, I’d rather die.
As for severe manipulation to the point MC doesnt know at all, I agree. But I was more thinking of MC that knows but still “forgives” and yes! More of light manipulation.
