It isn't directly stated but if you read chapter 6, he was wearing a button up shirt when he was assaulted by a friend from college. After that he moved back home and took a long leave of absence.
Maybe i'm reading into it too much but the "i can't wear button up shirts" is too out of nowhere to not mean anything plus they showed a panel of the guy ripping doha's shirt open （￣へ￣）if i'm right i appreciate the subtlely
