The author didn't depict him as a child. I didn't even recognize that is was M2 until I came to the comments. Say that YOU don't like it for whatever reason. Fine. But to claim that everyone has to be on board with your virtue signaling or they have issues... Maybe look in the mirror first?

Mind you this is just concept art of an adult m2 that is scrapped in the main story and is now shown as a bonus. So it’s highly definite that the m2 we see in the main story will stay as a child. M2 (as in the adult) was originally going to be apart of the main story and wasn’t going to be depicted as a child. Meanwhile the entirety of the story/plotline is about exploitation of what once were humans now turned hybrids that are now being used as livestock.

I saw from another reply that he was intended to be an adult in the concept art, but the idea was cut. still didn't rlly think it was necessary to use m2 for the bonus art especially since we have plenty fan favorites-
