My theory is that the kid's not the ml's biological son (most probably his nephew). He confessed to the mc bc he knows it would be the last time he's going to see him. The mc's niece mentioned that the kid's mom is in America so I have feeling the ml has to go abroad or something and has to deal with family issues.
