The RV is actually very smart. It's made of metal. They can sleep. Stay dry as it's sealed so no bad weather, and it would be a safe place with locked doors from anyone that tries to hurt them. Japanese RVs aren't that big and tall grass can get very high if left unattended for years. It's highly likely a giant varity of grass which can go up to 8 to 12 feet in height and that could easily cover a small RV specially if they use more covers.
The story is great very heartwarming but the mc is kinda dumb. Like why do you need an RV at this time when they can barely reach the pedals and how would they even drive it around knowing that it would cause commotion and how tall are those grass that they can’t see an RV (which is pretty tall in reality). MCs decisions are questionable but its an okay story.
