I get what you mean but i think the author gave Jinwoo a second life ish is for him to enjoy his life this time? Because when his dad got stuck or went missing, his mother got sick so he basically had to be an adult whilst still young.
To me, it’s a little nice touch. Jinwoo gets to live with everyone he loves and he still continues protecting them. But, I do understand why you think it’s unnecessary because it didn’t really add huge value to the arc and im just thankful that their kid won’t be like Boruto.. tbh with you I got scared when they introduce him to the gates! ╥﹏╥
I stand corrected.. i didn’t fully researched solo leveling turns out his kid have his own spin off havent started yet will let it marinate super long like what i did with this one.
Ps don’t hate me im just feeling a lot today because i seriously binge read this last night and got 4 hours of sleep because of this… im just gushing at the story! I hope you understand thanks!
ugh that’s exactly why I didn’t really vibe with the romance part . Like, suddenly the kid also has a system?? What’s the point of that, does being the MC’s child automatically mean they get a free pass to power? It kinda ruins the weight of Jinwoo’s whole struggle if his kid just wakes up and gets handed the same privilege without the same grind.
And honestly, the romance itself never felt earned. The process was way too rushed. In the beginning, everything about Jinwoo screamed desperate for family — his mom being sick, his sister, his dad missing — and we really felt that motivation drive him. But with his love life? It was basically nonexistent. There was barely any buildup, no deep emotional foundation shown on screen, and then suddenly it’s just like, “oh, shes pretty and strong and likes me, I guess I’ll go with it.” It gave me zero impact because the development wasn’t fleshed out, it felt more like ticking off a checkbox rather than an actual meaningful progression.
Then the story tried to shift into this whole “searching for love” arc out of nowhere and it just didn’t flow naturally. Like, we went from survival, dungeons, power struggles, to suddenly romance subplot speedrun any%
aaaand the part that really threw me off is how they made him have a child while being immortal, just so the story could keep going. Like… really? It feels more like a narrative device to stretch the series than something that actually made sense for Jinwoo’s character. Instead of adding depth, it kinda cheapened the whole thing for me. sorry for the rant ᕕ(˵•෴•˵)ᕗ
Ahhh you’re right! Tbh with you when i didn’t know his son will have its own spin off - i really thought it was a nice ending. Jinwoo got what he really wants finally in this timeline but when i didn’t a quick google search and his kid has already have it’s own spin off? I got a little worried and completely agree with you! He got buffs already without the grind and struggle.
As for the searching for love i guess they didn’t make it a full blown story out of it because it will really deviate from the arc and i like it that it was part of the side stories.. that’s why i find it okay even though it was subtle and even accepted their kid but huhu im worried for the spin off.
I don’t mind the romance but I will say it seems heavily forced. I wasn’t a fan in the beginning and I would’ve preferred him with the red head (makes way more sense to me) but it’s alright. It doesn’t add or subtract anything. Because of it I’m not too much of a fan of the sequel though. Btw, the author passed away before the romance even happened, is there proof that was ever his intention?
Yeah, exactly my thoughts. Some dick head really exist who think they’re superior just because they can glorify every little “romantic gaze” like it’s peak literature . Meanwhile the actual plot that had real potential just gets buried. Not everyone even likes romance, but try saying that and suddenly you’re the enemy of “true readers.”
Lmao calm down, keyboard warrior. Imagine foaming at the mouth this hard over strangers not vibing with your little 5% romance subplot . Newsflash: people are allowed to dislike things without worshipping the same crumbs you do. If a different opinion makes you this pressed, maybe you’re the one who needs to touch some grass and log off.

i found it unnecessary, could king just be great by his own? he's immortal anyway—how long he will "adjusting" — i like it until season 2 tho, what a waste of great potential (╬ ̄皿 ̄)凸
