I've finished reading the novel and i swear it wasn't as fast paced as this one

Yeah.. the pacing is fast that some scene felt flat.. the novel is much deeper in a sense that you can really imagine the scenarios
its just me or the pacing of this story is just so bad? is the novel like this too? its like "oh he will be
crazy if he takes a lot of medicine" than he takes a lot of medicine. pls be sincere, will it get better and less predictable at some point or should i just drop it?
i just picked it up and although the art is very pretty, chase is just an annoying uninteresting whiny brat while josh is just a really nice bottom, just thinking chase doesnt deserve him and their chemistry looks bad either, kinda disappointed
