No, the story is good as it is. Because Kai already felt he love keisuki when kouchi said he’s gonna get married. He congratulated him with all the love as a friend. That means he already moved on and already inlove with keisuke in those years.
if the male leads actually separated found themselves as person and eventually got back together it would have been more romantic and the ending would have felt more complete?
