I don't think the story treats them as equals in the slightest, from my end it is evident the teacher was always the one in control (even when being "forced" by Mirai). He's the cat and Mirai is the fish. It's all in the subtleties. He said it himself, "in front of you I cannot act like a teacher", his mask slips and his true self is revealed to be this ugly, perverted man that enjoys this sort of dynamic. Groomers love power and control over their victims, they like to corrupt them. When the teacher is SAing Mirai in the first chapter he says he can't let him be the only one that gets away. Even at the end, he says "I wouldn't be here if I wasn't a bad man". I don't think the end was supposed to be read as a happy ending, it's very bitter. Aside from the evident godawful nature of their relationship, what's in for them? What's the plan? They disappeared from the map, they have no jobs, no money. The scenes with Mirai being the one "in control" still show in a way that he's only doing this because he was done those things first. By the end, Mirai drinks and smokes freely, it reminded me of Harada's Nii-san situation. That detail of the child victims smoking and drinking by the end is one that I love on these types of stories: the destruction of childhood by groomers and how toxic it becomes to victims :(

I really liked authors “dear gene” and came to read more stories from them but this one ultimately triggered me like really bad! I like bl so ultimately I’m use to sadly seeing these topic portrayed and I usually can handle it but this one broke me. I have a few issues with it; the pacing was not the best, idk how we got from him feeding him to him raping him and I don’t know how the kid did what he was able to do, I didn’t really see the grooming aspect which is why to me the story seemed to treat the kid and the rapist as equals more than a victim being groomed into this abusive pedophilic relationship? The portrayal to someone who’s gone through this didn’t seem correct, also I need authors to know that you can portray scenes in horror and psychological media without getting super explicit. I didn’t need to see this man fully rape this kid and I didn’t need to see all the other scenes, I wfeel the author could have cleverly input more of the fish scenes into those explicit moments bc I was so busy skipping through them I’m probably missing a lot of info which makes it hard to understand the whole story :(
