I can sympathize with the gay part (i'm not gay though, and I'm a girl). To me it's a little annoying that omega's are basically girls (who are sometimes technically guys) who are attractive during periods and their periods don't bleed, and this is a good excuse to rape them, and sometimes become their husband/rapist. Besides that, I've always wondered... to me it's unrealistic that the omega-verse wouldn't have accommodations for omegas to work. I mean seriously, Omegas have "existed forever" in the omega-verse. it's not like omega's randomly fell from the sky one day, and no one knew what do with them.
Isn't it more of a drain on society to have a bunch of people who aren't allowed to work even when they want to? (and when I talk about work, I'm talking about that they aren't even allowed to have a real life and ambitions). You'd think that some insightful person would realize there is a whole group of potential employees out there who can do more than have sex with people and has enough integrity to let them.
I would like to find a few stories where it sucks to be an omega, but it's not a societal-discrimination story, where rape is the social norm.
Even though I say all this, I still read omega-verse lol! I like the omega-verse stories that have happy(?) endings...
But really, I can see why someone came up with the "omega-verse" and why other authors took off with it. In the case of yaoi, it's really only because we are rotten fujoshis and fudanshis who want m-preg, and slave/love stories and to sympathize with poor main character underdogs.

●Theres such a thing as a definite soulmate for everyone (soul bound, with marks! Not limited to alphas but the partners too can bite) And its such a beautiful thing.
●the marks supposedly stop you from cheating. Will release a burning sensation, make you dizzy feel repulsed, etc (in fics) So one partner is guaranteed.
● alphas grow immune to other omegas heats but HIS fated pair's and i think thats wonderful ♡ (supposedly...its common in fics)
●Theres this bond that constantly radiates love in their hearts and channels it to their partner and ugh its so beautiful. (In fics)
