Ted's motivation for the 2nd half is important to the plot but it should be wrapping up soon. His presence is what helped bring them back together in the first place, so I think once he's out of the picture, they have to go back to resolving the deal between Belle and the Duke.
Is it just me or did the author kind of lost the focus of the main couple? There is so much going on, like the murder case, the sister redemption, Ted‘s backstory who‘s pretty meh and other stuff. Their reunion and the hidden demon version was the only interesting plot points of act 2 so far tbh…
