tbh I can get his thought process as a person with ADHD. you feel scared that your latest dopamine inducing thing will start fading, and it can be the same for a love interest, so then you start overthinking and seeing things negatively and then break up or don't even start things out of fear of what hasn't even happened or started happening... it's hellish even if we know we might hurt or are already hurting the other person in the process, because we feel kind of cornered. ╥﹏╥
...then later you would say you are afraid taking responsibility of what you did just because afraid you would fall out of love later. How about the person who fell in love with you? Saying you are afraid that this would hurt the person so blah blah...nah you are a coward. You would like to do what you felt like doing then later won't go for it out of fear
