I... I mean I sorta get what you're saying. I just wanted to talk about that as someone that is trans and has found rep and used omegaverse and futa stories to contemplate and deconstruct heavier topics, like misogyny, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc..
It just feels like you're kinda making a blanket statement about a topic that has more nuance than that. Have you not thought that trans people or queer people write these stories too? That even maybe it's commentary for some stories about the very things you're critiquing it for? If queer people are not necessarily writing them in manga, then most definitely in fanfics.
Honestly some omegaverse and yaoi manga helped me process my genderfluidity and fluctuations in a more kinda layered way and made it easier for me to heal a lot of internalized stuff too. Each person takes away different things from the concept.
I won't lie it's INFURIATING seeing omegaverse and futa labeled content in the *level* of abundance comparatively with the very very very lacking genre of trans, non-binary, etc., representation that so desperately needs to be shown.
However, that to me anyway, doesn't mean that these stories are inherently incel story bait. I think that it can for sure have controversial aspects, like other genres, but the dismissal of it entirely as a at the very least a part of literary history, isn't exactly helpful but just in a different angle of 'this form of expression is permissable but this form is not'.
Also unless they explicitly identify as straight, it's still a queer relationship! Saying straight with extra steps without the couple making the comment themselves is just saying basically "oh so you're the man/woman in the relationship" like nah that's not what any of this is even if that dynamic is played with- just as a woman strapping or a guy bottoming doesn't immediately make it gender roles related- that's just terribly boring assumptions
Like, I couldn't imagine breaking down the complexities of queerness to that minimizing level.
Also like you can be a straight guy that bottoms and sometimes gets pegged by a girl and still be straight~ I promise there's so much fun stuff out there that limiting oneself like that is devaluing the connection one can have to the self.
Saying "you're just a lesbophobe or confused bisexual" is also incredibly gross and reductive for lesbians and sapphics that enjoy play with toys and in and of itself- both biphobic and lesbianphobic. Honestly, it feels like I'm hearing awful regurgitated bs from back in the day that was just meant to fuel infighting or allow pick-mes to curry favor with people that were never gonna pick them.
Imma gently hold y'all's hands when I say this- queerness is not one look, not one copy paste experience, queerness is multifaceted and to disrespect it so blatantly is doing a disservice to yourselves more than anything because clearly y'all are reading the content out of interest, curiosity or something - otherwise ya wouldn't be here and there wouldn't be comments. Be well n may more inclusivity fill your hearts over the years, even for moments you don't entirely understand or relate to
You know, I was going to grateful to you for being kind until I read your second comment that is purely passive-agressive.
Anyways, going back to the main point; there is nothing nuanced about "queerness"; a homophobic and sexist post modern theory created by white supremacists and incels who promote and endorse porn which is harmful to women and children.
You're either attracted to the same sex or both or not at all. Point blank.
No pseudo science and philosophy will change that basic fact.
There is nothing gross about pointing out blatant lesbophobia. Lesbians have been victims of bigotry in all sides, specifically women of colours who are lesbians.
Lesbians always meant and will always mean a woman attracted to women. Point blank. It's not rocket science. Changing this biological fact is a rape.
It is telling that lesbians didn't have a good dick, so they are failed and misguided women.
Queerness is just porn and white supremacy and incel culture dressed up as "progress and feminism ". It is better to read radical feminists and anti porn's academic essays
Why do queerists all sound so condescending and acting as if their view of the world, no matter how degenerate or ridiculous it is, it's the only right way. What a load bull scavish, and the passive aggressiveness is not hard to miss nor surprising since their entire community and movement is built on controlling the narrative (a false one) instead of recognising and accepting obvious shit. Even the one's that always claim to be "understanding" will show you exactly why they should never be trusted.
I hate whoever lumped the same-sex community with people who 'reclaimed' the word queer, a literal slur. And I absolutely hate people who act like biological differences should be ignored just to be accomodative of delusional and mentally disturbed individuals.
I genuinely wasn't purposefully being passive aggressive, and I apologize it came out sounding aggressive. I was being genuine. You probably think I'm a jerk either way so I guess there's that. I think it's... Well it's just that that people like myself, myself included, have been meet with a lot of vitriol and hatred simply for existing and that this kind of thing is prejudice in and of itself.
I'm not at all saying that people with genital repulsions need to accommodate anyone either btw. People that don't wanna date anyone unless they have specific genitals are also valid, it's just that like ... That still doesn't necessarily make all people that don't have genital repulsion or like specifics they like?, I'm not sure how to phrase that- as just inherently no longer allowed to call themselves a lesbian or gay. That's like also kinda transmedicalist which is exclusionary.
It all just feels ... Idunno, just kinda a bit short sighted and again infighting. We really do all deserve a kinder world.
- I just do wanna say, never said lesbian peeps didn't experience bigotry, I just said that the types of bigotry *also include*: "you're just a fake gay/straight" and "you only get to be xyz, if you identify as other you aren't allowed to sit with us" or "if you do XYZ in bed you can't possibly be a lesbian" from within and outside of their own communities. Being a lesbian is a beautiful thing, whether you identify in one way or differently from the typical definitions.
Also, to dismiss all this as bahhumbug "it's just porn addicts being gross is why queerness exists" creates some kind of a weird purity test with gayness and straightness and that just seems like puritanical beliefs bleeding into the mess? Like yeah it was a slur, but do you know the history of it? It meant simply strange, odd peculiar, or eccentric for about 300 years and then it started being used derogatorily towards Oscar Wilde, the famous author, during his trial about whether or not he was gay (also becoming known as queer) and could be sentenced for criminal activity. It started being reclaimed during the AIDS crisis in the 1980s/90s. It was reclaimed to disarm the hatred it carried and turned it into a radical form of empowerment, ultimately transforming the hateful and hurtful word into one of unity and resistance; becoming an umbrella term that is inclusive and can be used by anyone that identifies with it in the LGBTQ+ community. The "we're here, we're queer, get used to it!" Chant was made to act as a form of protest as countless community members were dying and no one was listening.
Queer originally meant gay, they were one and the same and gay meant anyone not straight. It evolved by community choice over decades upon decades of history. Countless people of every identity across the community were effected by the active harm caused during the AIDS crisis by the administration at the time. Reclaiming Queer was a way to regain a voice in a time when they had none. 'Queer' is a vibrant act of healing to me, and I know that same correlation isn't for everyone- but the history of it cannot be ignored either and to forget it or dismiss it as anything but vital to the historical growth of the community is just ignoring the truth of what has always been.
Anyway, I do genuinely hope you'll all be well and I hope you have a good day.
I don't think you're a jerk. Just misguided and follows that destructive "the road to hell is paved with good intentions" mindset.
Lesbians have nothing in common with gay men actually. It's a myth that has been propagated through media.
Beside same sex attraction, they have nothing to do with each other since there is a huge sexist issue with the gay men community where their misogyny is flagrant.
Read "unpack queer politics" and you will understand why biology is important and women should never ever be lumped with men.
The issue is that you choose quasi theoretical post modern propagandas instead of biology.
You still hung on "I identify as". Lesbians don't identify as anything. They are simply women attracted to women. Point blank.
I am bisexual and attracted to both sexes and denying by following this homophobic bs "I don't care about your biological sex. I just love you because it's you <3" is crazy.
Straights don't say bs like "I am not attracted to the opposite sex, I just love you:3 be cause it's you"
This is pure homophobia. What is wrong with loving the same sex and being proud of it instead of denying through philosophical bs.
There is only 2 biological sexes (and no intersex people aren't proof of third sex), I don't see the point of butchering the language.
By butchering it, you are butchering the rights of women and their safety + children's safety.
Ask yourself why you're trans. If you suffer from gender which is a rare mental illness, then you need genuine help and I hope thay you will get it be cause you don't deserve to suffer.
But other than gender dysphoria, it's probably body dysmorphia + internalized homophobia and sexism + you're victim of sexual content at a young age.

Straight but with extra steps. There's no dick in yuri unless it's dildos/strap, cause no lesbian likes dick unless you're a confused bisexual and just a lesbophobe. Either way, the yuri tag shouldn't be added to this lol
