agreed. It's kinda strange how everyone seems to have this "it's just goblins" mentality in this world when they've been clearly depicted as being so predatory and in such numbers. It's like judging your might against a single, lone fire ant instead of against the entire colony that would swarm you if you step on their mound. (but worse)
While I agree, I think it's like a professional pitfall that adventurers fall into. Once they get into the higher ranks, they forget how hard it is to fight goblins as a beginner because to them, they have the experience and power to easily kill hordes of goblins. They also need to focus on large scale issues like the demons, dragons, and evil gods, not to mention now they are at the top of the ranks of a government (which means that have to run the kingdom as well). So to them, goblins are nothing more than a small problem compared to everything else. You can see the same mentality with the adventurers in the town as well, and when faced with goblins in the farm attack they could kill many goblins BUT they were hesitant because the pay was minimal. Most ppl dealing with goblins are also outside of major towns, who are usually fortified in some way compared to villages with mere wood fences, and so they can't afford to offer great rewards. Thus, the goblin issue becomes big because the ppl who need help are poor and high ranked adventurers don't see the benefit or danger of goblins anymore.

Someone should let these politicians go fight goblins themselves to see if "it's just goblins" anymore
Bunch of cowards sitting on their warm seats and expect the sword maiden with goblin-ptsd to do everything
The king looks like a decent guy though, he's level headed, empathic, and is not selfish.
