Ai no Kusabi

I just watched Ai no Kusabi and I'm so confused. Why was it labeled as romance? Didn't have anything to do with that at all. Also didn't get the end I guess. ╥﹏╥

The literal meaning of Ai No kusabi is the space between. So it's about blonde people as the highest people with position in society, and their slaves (there's a huge space in there). Romance maybe because Iason, despite of his mean attitude, he's actually fall in love with Riki and doesn't want anyone to touch him. Idk maybe that's why, because that's what i understand( ̄∇ ̄")

The original material - I believe it was a light novel originally - was DEFINITELY BL. Said light novel's illustrator made a short manga out of it which was made into a couple of OVAs.

they were in love with each other. you would know if you watched the original, older version, not the newer version. the newer version was never finished. :C

there was a newer version? no wonder i'm confused why the OP did not see how the two were inlove with each other.

Lmaoo yeah I just watched the newer version I thought it was finished like that and just saw the whole owner/slave relationship and possibly stockholm's syndrome...

I feel like any "relationship" started as slave and owner would end up like stockholm's syndrome though ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Hm I have no watched the older version and I get Iasons unhealthy Obsession/love but I don't view it as mutual.. More like I said possible Stockholm's syndrome like feelings from Riki.
