... But I do agree with you, there is no setup for the plot. We're just plunged into it. I assume their transformation are a result of the meteorite falling and now they're being experimented on by scientists, as assumed from the latest chapter.
But we must hope that the people in charge will not stop at a cliff hanger and they will continue writing
