In my opinion, it's a translation mistake. At least, it already happened in other stuff I read. Maybe Suzuki was called in a slightly feminine way, with -chan or whatever. That would have led to the translator using feminine pronouns. That's pretty common

was it the author's intention to make suzuki a mysterious looming figure w an unclear identity but also imply them to be female then later reveal to be male?
(( just curious cuz i loved the switch up cuz we thought junko was suzuki for a minute and then it's revealed it's some annoying dude instead of an intense but competent woman iykwim but now he's prob a hot annoying biker hunk and we're even more into it
