I think she was part of the rebellion. I couldn't remember much though. She died/was killed due to this and so MC also wants revenge but he's powerless to do it. This was used as a leverage by the ML to coerce MC into being part of his team I think?

It's a "HAPPY" ending because both are in love with each other and live together. Like how?! They are very sweet towards each other on the last chapter that I couldn't even believe I was reading the same novel. I wish they all died.

The writing is good, in terms of the revenge plot against the royalty. However, the psychological tag did not lie because I did want to kms while reading and once I finished this. The violence and were too much man especially because it's mostly the ML doing it to MC.

ML is a BLACK FLAG who would use anything and anyone for his revenge. That includes mainly the MC and himself and then other people. This guy not only the ML from beginning to end of the novel, he also lets other people MC. That includes a gang while he was watching, and a by another guy. Speaking of gang , he has a photo of MC when he was gang before he met ML and the ML treasures that photo, he fantasizes about it. He also beats the MC. But despite that, he ACTUALLY has feelings for the MC. WTF?! I DON'T EVEN KNOW ANYMORE! But because he wants the revenge to happen since that's what he and his team have been working on for years, he still does everything to accomplish this. And most of the time, it involves MC. There was one time where he ordered MC to sleep with another guy and record it and when he saw the photos, he is maaaad but thinks "no, I don't have the right to get jealous" DAMN RIGHT YOU DON'T. And then proceeds to the mc. He becomes a red flag later on (Yay???), kills some of MC's previous pists and then they even live together?! Also he sleeps with other people during his revenge plot.
MC is so so so battered, traumatized, but somehow he is sane or maybe not because he develops feelings for the ML, saying he knows and could "tell" that the ML loves him too. He has this thing where he declared he would unmask the ML who constantly has a smiling face even if he doesn't like what's happening. Saying that he understands how the ML is thinking/ what ML's true feelings are. He is somehow right about this, but also kinda delulu because what do you mean you could tell that your kidnapper/ist loves you?! The first time I heard him declare that I knew he has gone mad. Poor soul we lost him. He trusts ML in every decision and is very dependent on him. He even gets worried when he thought ML might die. I really thought he would get revenge for himself but no, he adapts and just accepts what orders ML has for him. Then they live together and apparently have feelings for each other.
The novel is super long. I hated it but I also couldn't look away because, I hate to admit it, the way the ML was willing to sacrifice everything for his revenge to happen just fascinated me. HE REALLY WENT THROUGH.
