Obviously he wasn’t just mad that Andrew was saying stuff. He didn’t like that Andrew essentially wanted him to just trust him and not his friends but never shared any of the important details on why. He never once just out right said I think Bruno is trying to set you up, I saw his glasses when you got locked up, I confronted him and then he pretty much admitted it. You can ask him if you want I doubt he’d deny it if you confronted him. HE NEVER ACTUALLY PROVIDED EVIDENCE HE ACTUALLY HAD. He just kept picking at Luke to just trust him and be suspicious towards his friends. Honestly with that line he thought in the lab it felt like Andrew was testing whether Luke would just trust him unconditionally. He wasn’t actually trying to help the situation. Now Luke finds out not only did he confront Bruno without his permission but didn’t tell him about it either. He definitely in trouble. What if you found out your partner went to your job and confronted your shitty coworker and never told you? You had to find out from your job. How fucking humiliating.

If Andrew chose to hide what happened with Bruno from Luke, then he can't just vaguely tell Luke he can't trust his friends and expect Luke to just be okay with it. If Luke did that he'd be a bird brain tbh. Just because you meant well doesn't mean a bad action becomes okay.

Andrew thought he knew Luke well enough to make a decision on Luke's behalf and for that he was completely wrong. That's protection taking the shape of control. Luke deserved to know what Bruno did to him and what he decides to do after that was also his right. This conflict needs to happen to allow Andrew to see that he really cannot control every aspect of life in the way he's gotten used to controlling everything that happens in his own day to day
