i loved the initial premise but imo this had sooo much wasted potential in the development. we could’ve seen more scenes from highschool and why they fell for each other, we could’ve seen the straight guy slowly questioning his sexuality and heteronormativity over the years, seeing the different dates each year would’ve been interesting too, and keeping the jealousy arc/misunderstanding about him moving on would’ve been so satisfying. i wish the author could rewrite this all these years later but with this different sort of pacing
