I don't get it

Someone poisoned ML's wine he sells with something that is odorless & colorless but it makes it taste sweeter, so he needs someone to identify it. Mc being a proficient wine identitying was put onto the job which he is naive to the fact it's poisoned.

Or is there some else you don't get?
