Basically what I read was that the mc mom was blackmailed by the empress brother threatened to assault the father. The mc father was drugged at a party. And basically they both did the deed without wanting to. His wife didn't divorce him because she despised the child it was because her husband who was loving turned to a monster she didn't recognize to the point of hurting his own child
Omg this makes the story so much more complex, I was really getting angry at duke because he cheated but blamed Mc. What happened to him was so wrong. But still I wish he explained this to his wife and accepted Mc :(
Well she wanted to divorce him because he abused his child and not because he brought the child into his home. At the end of the novel the ML father is actually alive and the ml and fl starts a new kingdom

Yes she does. She repeatedly tells the Duke not to hurt the MC and its nkt her fault. But seeing how cruel he is being to the Mc, dhe starts hating the duke and asks for divorce.
