Always so annoying when they sweep crime under the rug

This always happens in BL manga. I've barely seen any manga where the character is reporting sexual or domestic abuse, stalker incidents, it's all just swept under the rug like it's nothing. Even the ones where the perpetrator gets caught always gets caught not by the main characters report. No consequences. It's really unfortunate this is how media portrays crime and its sad. ESPECIALLY in BL manga i think this is really Important to show some consequences. What message are they trying to show? You're gay so you can't report crime? Because it's not normal? There's still internalised victim blaming in all of them. There is nothing pure or innocent in being self-loathing. It's just plain stupid.

I think this has more to do with japanese culture. It well known that cases of SA are always swept under the rug due to victim blaming and poor jurisdiction. SA is treated like a joke in Japan. It's visible in its media.

I can't express how disgusted I felt during the coming of age ceremony part. The way they were talking about women and their actions towards the MC. It was so frustrating to see the ML reaction as well. And your comment made me realise that the author used Abuse as a way to portray the MC as the tragic but pure and strong. WTF

Sorry for the long rant. But I need to express emotions after that train wreck of a manga.

If you look at statistics it's very common not to report. I only know the stats for women, but 2/3rds of women don't report. I feel like this manga was just showing the reality. Sad, but reality.
