it's not because of misunderstandings that him and his father doesn't have a relationship. it's because he was a shitty parent. it's said he was struggling with substance abuse and implied that he might have even physically abused kai. so I get where you might be coming from but you can't hope that a person has to forgive someone because they have a certain relationship with the other person.
I hope the dad is still alive and that they make up for how thing are with them. Misunderstanding and not talking is alway bad in relationships wether they parents, Siblings, and partners
