i actually feel bad for kiyoi

you're absolutely right, I'm only half through the second novel for this series and hira's low esteem ego is so huge and kiyoi is subconsciously putting in the effort to understand him

I agree with you in the sense that I wouldn’t be able to stand dating someone like hira since he’s quite the exhausting person, but I actually enjoy the way the story is going for now and their dynamic since kiyoi doesn’t seem to mind that it’s like this so far despite understanding the situation he put himself in lol

Though in that sense their current relationship is definitely not sustainable long term so I’m really hoping hira can overcome his self esteem issues soon ╥﹏╥

As If Hira is not part of the reason for Kiyoi's low self-esteem lol. The only one who ever treated Kiyoi kindly in his life was Iruma-kun (who got rejected)...while Kiyoi was busy talking shit about Kiyoi, using him as a gofer and mingling with the same bullies that were treating Hira badly
