Shhh, don't fear~ we're simply nearing the top of the arc of suspense here. The story won't end on this note, nor will it continue with the characters accepting gruesome fate this easily. We still need the catharsis at this point - something to relief the pressure.
Aaand if you show the viewer a weapon in detail in the first act of a story, of course you have to shoot the weapon in the end. That being said, we've been given Taemin's/Woojin's backstory in detail .. at some point it has to be used again to move the drama along.. or to clear the whole mess up at least ;)
