Yeah, people seem to forget the poor girl has been abused and taught to be abused her whole life. People are wired to love their parents, the aunt is her parent. (Who uses classic hot and cold manipulative technic) Dora wants to believe her.

Everybody is different so I don't think it's right to say that most ppl will make same choices like her as I believe they will not but I understand what you're trying to say through your comment it's understandable.
I feel like if Jack didn't hide her letters, she would be with Brown now. Both Jack and that old witch suck. It's easy to call Dora dumb but most people would make the choices she made if they were placed in that toxic and twisted environment.
