Simple facts

I think it’s easier to support a character like this because deep down you know it’s fiction, however I have also seen cases of where people sympathize with a serial killer and murderer like Jeffery Dahmar, given the situations are different it speaks to a truth, that there are some people who would encourage such a nasty behavior (by offering some sort of warped understanding and excuses forgetting that innocent people have also lost their lives and have been thrown into chaos) and character and try to blame situations, her father was a terrible man and as such got what he deserved, so why can’t she equally get what she deserves as she’s equally terrible, she ruined and killed innocent people, from the innocent people’s stand point and their families stand point do you honestly think they’ll be satisfied and forgive her, don’t be hypocrites, but alas this is fictional, however it is telling.

I think that, in the end, we as readers are inevitably biased toward her. The webtoon is largely told from her perspective; we see every aspect of her life, which leads us to humanize her more deeply. Because of this, many readers excuse her actions, even though, on some level, they recognize that she is a bad person.

The same phenomenon can be seen in real life: The sympathizers of serial killers are one example. But the same can be said for victims of abuse, or family members/ close acquaintances of criminals, who humanize the perpetrator and, as a result, rationalize or even conceal their crimes.

In general we, as humans, have a strong tendency to forgive, forget, and deceive ourselves in order to avoid confronting the uncomfortable truth that someone we are close to, or empathize with, is morally corrupt. This is just our psychology.
