It's was probably the "I'm fed up of being abused and I thought that the father wouldn't hit out child" type shit. Just my speculation. Hope it's something much more understandable tho.

Im pretty sure what happened is the dad was selling her and she left with out her kid and then found a new family, but when that family found out what happened with hyesung they like dropped her or something like that so she’s all alone now. At least that what i think i remember. It been a while since a I read the first story

Her "situation" was that she was in an abusive marriage with Hyesung's father who literally pimped her out to different alphas for business favors and money.
She naturally wanted to leave (understandable) but when she left her husband she didn't take Hyesung with her. Why? Was it because she thought hyesung would be better off with his father? or that she had no means to take him? No. Its because she had found an alpha lover she wanted to be with and didn't want him to know she had a kid. She essentially chose her love over her child. And was willing to make contact her ex husband just to get a divorce but not to see her son. She knew what her husband was like and the risk Hyesung was in if he manifested as an omega, he would face the same fate she did. But she only thought about herself so left him behind. She never once made any effort to contact or find Hyesung who had to drop out of high school just to escape his father. Only after he got revealed as being the partner of a famous celebrity that had married into a wealthy family. I'm guessing the alpha she ditched Hyesung for is also no longer around.
The fact she goes behind Hyesung's back to have contact with Byul and dojin just shows how disrepectful she is to her son's feelings.

As far as i remember, she was being abused by Hyesung's father. All of this mistreatment was due to the fact that she got pregnant with hyesung when dating the dad so they married to take responsibility. But then one day she had enough of the abuse (i think he was even selling her to his friends for sex?), and left, leaving Hyesung behind (abandoning him) thinking that the dad wouldn't abuse him since they thought hyesung was an 'alpha', but hyesung suffered from the abandonment of his mother as well suffered from his father abuse too, especially since he reminded the dad of the ex-wife because he resembled her (like stated before, he looked just like his mother), and because he looked like his mother the dad believed that hyesung was an omega too and not an alpha.


I also hate the mom, like, i understand that you were being abused by your husband, possibly been prostituted too, but she should've thought of taking the child with her. But nooooo.. she didn't because; "Oh! My son is an alpha!, his abusive dad won't mistreat him because of that, even though the child looks like me. Plus, the child would remind me of the abused i suffered in silence". Like, seriously?, like did the police don't exist in that world?, and not only did she left after hyesung begged her not to leave, but she also tried to moved on and remarried?. (I believe she married to another guy that also had a child?) But was divorced after the guy found out what she had done and still didn't think of doing anything to help hyesung?. She only apologized and that's it?. And now she not only lives comfortably in a house provided by her son-in-law but also get to be part of byul's small updated life.

As to the dad!! Wished he could've rot in hell!! This abusive bastard also got remarried after losing the run-away ex-wife and the run-away son and like, did a 180° with his new family. He acted like a nice and loving husband and father?!. Wished the dad could had gotten some retribution for his misdeeds.

Also, this was the only issue i had towards byul and dojin, them going behind hyesung's back and still maintaining contact with the woman who abandoned hyesung especially when dojin knew hyesung didn't wanted to have anything to do with her even after she apologized to him. Byul didn't knew the whole picture, and hyesung didn't give him much details when byul started getting curious about his other grandmother (which i think it was stupid from hyesung side. Like, just tell your kid your whole truth about why the grandparents aren't part of their life when he came to asked you about her!).

I don't know, that whole chapter about the subject of the grandmother being discovered felt like meh!, is like the author brushed that off so quickly because the focus was in the kissing scene between byul and siwoo. The author should've gone into more depth about the subject with their characters and tied down the issue with a more clear perspective of each side, this could've explained the reasons as to why hyesung suffered from prostpotern depression and why he left byul when he was a baby instead of just moving past the issue and brushed it underneath a rug. I don't know, thats just me, that chapter felt empty because it was more of; "look the kissing scene y'all be waiting!!". LOL.

she didn't abandon Hyesung because "he looks like the dad", since hyesung is her carbon copy. She abandoned him because she found an alpha lover she wanted to be with and thats what gave her the courage to finally leave the abusive husband. However, she didn't want her lover to know had a kid and by the looks of it didn't want Hyesung to jeopardize her "happiness" so she left him to his fate with that POS father. She was willing to make contact with the Hyesung's again to get a divorce but not once did she ever attempt to find or check up on her son, how he was doing. Her response was "well why didn't you try to me find me?" . She's a piece of shit. Yes she is a domestic abuse and forced prostitution victim but she is still a piece of shit who needlessly traumatised her son out of pure selfishness. What Dojin and Byul did was not only disrespectful but completely disloyal.

Amen. She needs to never be forgiven. Why would you leave your child in a place like that then state "why didn't he look for you" YOU ARE THE FREAKING PARENT. You're responsible for the child you made. Byul talking to her in secret is low but he's a child and he didn't know better not excusable but still a factor. DOJIN! You are married to this man you met him when he had nothing and nobody. Why would you talk to that bitch of a mother? AND provide that bitch a place to live.?!!!!

Just to add, iirc when Hyesung's mom met with his ex-husband, she was told that Hyesung don't want to see her after she ask to see Hyesung. I think since she never had the courage after being told that and to even look for him bec other than the fact that she abandoned him, I think she didn't know that Hyesung ran away from home. Not defending her btw, just adding this

Exactly, unlike Dojin knows the extent of the trauma and damage Hyesung's mother did to Hyesung. Did he really give that bitch a place to live?
I'm sorry if this is true, this just confirms the real reason she made effort to contact with Hyesung when she found out he had a famous husband and married into a wealthy family. She's shameless to accept such a thing behind Hyesung's back.

What are you on about?. I never said Hyesung looks like the father lol you should re-read my previous comment again. I said the dad abused hyesung because hyesung reminded the dad of his run-away ex-wife because hyesung looks exactly like her, and therefore he believed hyesung was an omega and not an alpha.

Also, it seems i need to re-read that part where the mom comes into the picture because I don't remember any of what you said, I remember the mom saying she left the abusive ex-husband (hyesung's dad) because she could no longer stand the abuse, and left hyesung behind because she thought since he was an alpha the dad wouldn't had done anything bad to him. And that eventually she found someone she loved and did lived happily for a matter of time but when her second husband found out about her past that he divorced her and that's why she wanted to meet him so she could at least apologize for abandoned him.

And yes, after they parted and hyesung made it very clear that he forgave her but still did not want anything to do with her, Dojin went behind Hyesung's back and bought her a house (the house in which she currently lives in) because his excuse in his mind was that if there was a time where hyesung changed his mind he'll know where she will be at. Plus, at that time he wanted her to have little updates on byul when he was a baby. This is what I remember, so I'mma go and double check that chapter just to see xD

Yes Dx it's fucking frustrating because Dojin knew exactly what happened!! (he was literally sitting next to hyesung when they talked to hyesung's mother). Okay, i re-read everything from love is an illusion to love is an illusion star. So here's the chapters where they mention hyesung family. In love is an illusion- chapter 30 (hyesung opens up to dojin about his childhood abuse)
Chapters 97 and chapter 98 hyesung's father comes into the picture after he found out hyesung married into the seon family. (By this point Dojin became a popular celebrity and pictures of him and hyesung going on dates leaked thats how both the father and mother were able to find out about hyesung). At the end of chapter 98 hyesung mom talks to dojin at a cafe.
Chapter 99 Hyesung mom comes to talk to hyesung at hyesung and dojin's house. (Hyesung couldn't confront her face to face so they talked through a door). Now this is a he-she said case, because previously the dad told hyesung that the mom did not wanted anything to do with him when she came over to ask for a divorce, but the mom told hyesung that the dad told her that hyesung did not wanted to see her.
In love is an illusion Superstar- chapter 4 Byul narrates about the grandmother, and in that chapter he said; "Dad looks after grandmother without anyone knowing" so that implied that Dojin is providing hyesung's mom financially, including the place where she lives since apparently she's all alone (byul also narrates that the grandmother is alone after she remarried and the partner found out about hyesung the partner divorce her).


Honestly, after re-reading all of this i do NOT feel pity about hyesung parents. They both fucking sucks!!!
The mom was 21 when she met hyesung dad (he was older than her) they dated and got pregnant. They married for responsability, but the father started resenting the mom since nothing was going well for him, thats how he started abusing her. To the point that he started to sell her sexually to his clients.
But this bitch literally left after she found another alpha!! Yes, you read that right, she left and abandoned hyesung because she wanted to escape the abuse and left with her lover. And this bitch only came back because she found out hyesung married into a rich family. She said that when she went to ask for a divorce that hyesung dad told her hyesung didn't wanted to see her, and when hyesung asked her why she didn't bother to look for him; this bitch literally asked him why didn't HE tried to find her!!! Like, bitch!! Your son ran away from his abusive father after he dropped out of school, he was a minor with no money or place of his home. He was bouncing from work to work and staying over at a friend's place how the fuck do you expected him to search for you?! While you didn't even wanted him in your new happy family life?!.

So I think the mum was even more like relieved when the dad said he doesnt want to see her. She was thinking that's understood coz she abandoned him. He wouldnt question the dad's statement. She cant see him anyways coz she's hiding the fact that she had a child. It's not clear when her new partner knew about Hyesung and finally divorced her. But like I said she didnt know he ran away from home. so she wouldnt know what Hyesung went through alone. And it's also imposible for her to snoop around and get news from the dad coz she fears him. the abuse that she went through it's obvious she doesnt want to go anywhere near him or hear anything about him.

I agree it was selfish and so bad of her to just completely forget about her child and just resurface after seeing him with Dojin, But Ive seen alot of abuse victims and it really changes them. People handle abuse differently. Some can take it, some can't. What the mum has become is bec of what the dad did. I think that's why you would see Hyesung blaming everything only to his dad, why his mum left, the abuse she gave her, why he left, the hardships he went through, but for his mom, he only hates her for leaving him behind. I hope we'll get the complete picture, but I hate the dad more than the mum.

Sorry but I have to disagree with you on that. Don't get me wrong, I do feel bad for the abuse she went through, but that doesn't excuse her gold digging, selfish despicable ass. You're just trying to victimized her actions because of the abuse she suffered with traumatization. But she could've escaped when the first abuse happened. Why did she stay?, why did she not get the police involved?, again, did the cops don't exist in that world?. If she decided to run away from the abuse why not take hyesung with her?. That's right, she didn't because she wanted a new life with her new alpha lover without hyesung by their side. She selfishly chose her new lover over her son. She selfishly lived a happy life with her new family (she even had childrens with the new lover and never ONCE mentioned hyesung to her partner). And it wasn't until chapter 4 in love is an illusion superstar that we found out the bitch's partner divorced her because her lover found out about hyesung and left her ass. She was left alone, not even her other children wanted anything to do with her (makes you wonder why she was left alone huh?), and I think that's why she ended up seeking hyesung back then. And sadly enough, the gold digger got what she wanted since Dojin provides for her.
That's why I said, both are equally horrible parents that don't deserve hyesung forgiveness at all, and the only reason why hyesung only blamed his dad for the abuse is because it was the dad that destroyed their family, it was the dad that started the abuse, it was the dad who made his mom abandoned him, it was the dad who didn't cared about him and even abused him too. The mom never abused him, the mom protected him while she lived with them

Byul is a kid and its only because Dojin was going behind Hyesung's back to "support" the grandma.
Hyesung should be more angry at Dojin and quite frankly shouldnt have forgave him so easily.
People need to realise Hyesung's mother literally abandoned him not because she "wanted to escape her abusive husband". She left him behind with that monster becauss she wanted to be with another alpha and didnt want him to know she had a child. So when she said "oh your father said you didnt want to see me" its bs, because she would have not wanted Hyesung in her life while she ead still with the other alpha. Whom not only did she get married to but also had other kids with.
This just shows what a piece of shit she is. She left Hyesung to rot and made zero effort to check on him or find him but went on to start another family with someone else.
