Could've been peak but flopped (imo)

Honestly, I loved the story for what it was UNTIL the 2nd-3rd seasons showcased their past lives. If they’d stuck with Taehyuk not being a reincarnation of Hyo-un’s mate it would’ve made the story even better (the moving on from a past love, and the message that a person can have multiple great loves throughout their lifetime) But even then when they were hinting at Taehyuk obv being Hyo-un’s mate I wasn’t against it at first thinking that they had a master-servant relationship, (this can also be problematic due to the power dynamics tho) Only to reveal that Taehyuk raised Hyo-un himself… having met him as a child…

i completely agree with you, i also wished the author went down the “he’s not actually his past lover” route. it would’ve been very refreshing to see with this type of story.

right??? it was extremely promising but was ruined by the ‘raising my lover’ trope. the author could’ve done so much more with this story, and the ending and message would’ve been more powerful overall if it wasn’t for their past.
