What you said makes sense, we are just thinking of different parts of it I think. When it comes to prostitution, I usually think of it as last resort since the industry is so exploitative even if adults ‘consent’, they can get sex from hook ups if it’s not for last resort.
I counted trafficking or just poverty, with that there are way more ‘last resort’ situations than because they like sex. None of sex worker’s fault but those who exploits.
Unfortunately there’s an endless amount of demand for sex, bypassing legality. I would understand if some wanted to do sex work not exactly as last resort but just for quick money, many do rake in great income.

Your views do not define consent. Consent is legally defined and enforced by the parties involved in the act. If the individual is not coerced/threatened into giving you anything, it is a valid consent. Pr0stitution is another subject on its own. If the pr0stitute is willingly selling themselves out, consent is not the issue here, but whether this "activity" is taxable or recognized as legal. You need to declare your income... however, "the dark alley" industry is evading all the eyes and messing up the PIB. P0stituation is not even profitable for a country's growth...
