You are right, there 100% was sex education and contraception, there were vaginal suppositories to prevent the sperm from reaching the cervix, there were condoms made from animal intestines or other organs in the shape of a sleeve, they used stuff like frankincense oil and others as spermicide, they'd douche afterwards to clean the sperm out, heck they even used lemon rind as a cervical cap. I wish that authors would use this knowledge in these types of stories, it'd be fun honestly.
Oooh, that would be fun! Or at least add one word like: "Oh no, we were careful so why?". I mean it's not like the contraception is 100% effective. And it would add a little more depth.
If I understood the raws correctly, we have accidental pregnancy AGAIN. Jeez, I am pretty sure even in time periods like this they had alternative contraception. It's not like these teens are in the dark about how babies are made... But then again, even in our times it is hardly rare, so I take my words back...
