I mean I would say that most people probably don't know what abusive relationships are like and honestly that's a good thing. Like I've never been in one myself, but my father was like this to my mom so I've seen/been in it before, but if they have never been around it or in it then no they wouldn't know what it's like. Oh no I agree there they are completely ignorant and should be more empathetic about his situation, but I also get that if you haven't been in it you can never really understand you know? Thinking "He should just leave" is a reasonable thing to say cause it seems like it should be that easy but those of us that have experienced it know it's not all that simple. But it's probably also pointless to try and explain it since they can't wrap their brains around the Why themselves you know? Like talking to a brick wall.

Some of yall don’t understand emotional and abusive relationships, and it shows. Not to mention empathy. The writing isn’t the best, but some of you need to stfu about certain things. Mako was abused an manipulated—he feels as though he needs to be with that mf (I forgot his name, fuckin bitch) because that’s how the abusive relationship progressed. His bf’s on and off behavior is WHY he is this way, it’s literally a tactic from abusers. He’s not being stupid to be stupid, the relationship has literally been twisted in a way that Mako is dependent on his bf for that companionship. And THAT is why the abusive bf’s tactics WORKED.
