I think at least some of the dialogue is intentionally horrible - especially ML's. At least in my personal experience, that's how a lot of men like that really do talk. They're not hiding that the plot is intentionally creepy and meant to give a lot of people the "ick", and getting that vibe is easier through language than action in this type of media.
Or I could be overthinking it (～￣▽￣)～
The art? Nice. The plot? Wattpad coded. This is just a cringe ass history, even the sex scenes are mid with horrible dialogue.
