i mean looks like they just mashed the vibes together for a fantasy series, the western fantasy historical stuff is always wildly inaccurate and indulgent too, dont see why theres a double standard for middle eastern stuff accuracy wise if people have no problem with the western-setting fantasy being historically bullshit
OMFG THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SAYING THAT like yeah people embrace any historically inaccurate european/east asian fantasy setting. and get mad defensive at any fantasy setting based on other cultures. they don't see that they advocate against creativity solely for marginalized cultures but accept any sort of western mash-up. I've often seen settings mixing up italian, french, english and german references tho these countries are very different, proud of their differences and historically have beef.

european fantasy being indulgent doesn’t reinforce stereotypes about europeans as a marginalized group (cause they’re not!!!) middle eastern settings do, this manhwa especially when it’s about child marriage, what’s that supposed to say about the middle east. There are racist stereotypes about this and these tropes practically fan the flames of the racism (with brown people wearing shoes that point up at the end, and they all get around on elephants). Pretending it’s the same thing ignores how representation works and the affect it has on real people. now i’m worried for what you people think about life in the middle east

BWAT for some reason made this guy persian. why did we need a bl manhwa about padishahs. there was an elephant in the snow in the beginning, and his name is shuraka loram…, the author is a bit ignorant on that ethnicity i think
