Can someone tell me in which era this take place? I was thinking Victorian or Edwardian but the clothes are maybe too revealing? Or is it the Italian version?

I believe the story is very loosely inspired by the life of cesare borgia! He lived in italy in the 1400-1500 era so like the medieval era.
